George Yerolimpos
Renowned for his ability to manage and oversee high profile international events, Greek Economist George Yerolimpos gained his PhD in Ireland before combining his passion for finance and sport and becoming the Executive Director of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games, an Executive Director at SportAccord, Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of the International Boxing Association (IBA) and Secretary General of the Fédération Internationale de Teqball (FITEQ). George was also Director of Venues Operations in the Organising Committee of the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 and remains a financial and planning advisor for numerous organisations. Moreover, George was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) for more than 20 years and has been President of the Hellenic Triathlon Federation since 2007. He has also been President of the Mediterranean Triathlon Federation since 2008. Furthermore, George was part of the management of the International Olympic Academy, a member of the “New Ways of Communication” of European Olympic Committees (E.O.C.) for issues on information technology and communication, a member of the Organising Committee of the World Athletic Championships in Athens1997 – and was also General Secretary of the World and European Karate Federation for 16 years.
